Dear Joel,
Yes, we do think that Leslie will encourage the other girls to run because she got first place the first day she ran. A lot of girls didn't run because of Gary Fulcher and her running we think will encourage the other girls.

We think that Gary didn't want Leslie to run because he saw Leslie beat Jesse and he was afraid that she would beat him too and he couldn't stand losing.
