Hi! Thanks to the students in Burlington, Ontario and Upper Arlington, Ohio for a great discussion yesterday! I learned a lot!

I have a question. It's about Chapter 2. What does Mrs. Amos mean when she says, "I do not have time to put up with the foolishness of those members of our race who do not want to be uplifted" (page 15)

Oh—and how would Chapter 2 change if it were told from Toddy's point ov view? Or from Mrs. Amos's?

Write back soon!

Yesterday I asked why Bud's eyes don't cry anymore. I got some great answers to my question. Thanks!

Now I have another question: Why do you think Bud has made up a set of rules to live by?

Of course, always feel free to write in with your own questions and comments about the book!

I think Todd is a selfish boy. He is mean to Bud because he likes to be an only child so he lies to get Bud into trouble so they will send him back to the home. I think it is disgusting how Todd sticks the penil up Bud's nose and how he uses the oil stain as an advantage.
Do you like or dislike Bud????
P.S. answer my question.

A number 1 says If I was Bud the items I would bring in my suit case are a teddy bear, family photo, blanket and book!
A number 2 says if I were Bud the items I would bring in my suitcase are a yo-yo, a snack, a swiss army knife, and a water bottle.

We would bring these items because they remind me of home as well as some of the items would help me to survive.
What would you guys bring?

Hey guys,
The suitcase is so important to Bud because he has his treasures which are the flyers and he thinks that the picture of the man holding the Cello is his father. If I was Bud and I had a suitcase to put treasures in then I would put in my ski trophies and medals. I would also include my stuffed teddy bear that I have had since I was born.
P.S Anyone, please write back your comments to me about what you would bring!
See ya,

Hi,
I want to talk about how Bud uses his list of rules to get through any problems that he faces. I think that he uses them for a great reason, well because they are good rules. Sometimes when I have to lie I will use his rules. I like the rule where it says, If your going to make a lie up make sure that it is short and easy. I think that one of my friends should use that rule because whenever she makes up a lie, later she would not remember it if I asked her about it. How do you think that Bud uses his list of rules to help get him out of tough situations?

Hi

I think that the suitcase is important to Bud because it could have been his mother's or father's. If I were Bud in my suitcase I would put a picture of my family so I would remember them, my swiss army knife to protect myself, some clothes so that I would not have to wear the same clothes each day, and a blanket to keep me warm at night.

P.S
Please write back if you feel like it!
