Wow
This book is getting good but I think that bud's mom kept the flyers because she wanted Bud to think that the man in the flyer is his dad because his real dad did something wrong.

Good morning! Thanks for your comment, Carl. That's a very good idea.

I liked reading your comments on Friday. Alyssa—I think your idea about Bud's name is a good one. She definitely thought of Bud as a "flower-to-be" who needed lots of love to grow!

Here's a discussion topic:
As Bud walks into the library, he takes a deep breath and thinks about how "no other place smells anything like it." He mentions the different things that give the library its special smell. What are some places in your own life that have distinctive smells. How do you feel when you are in these places?

Hi! I can't believe it's Monday already!

Hey Matt, Michael, and Mike—thanks for writing to me. I like the way you guys think!

What is all this talk in the book about doors opening and closing? How does this metaphor relate to Bud? That's what I want to know.

From:
Carmen
To: Alycia
I almost forgot to answer your question! That's a very good question. I was actually hoping to find out what would happen in the morning—when Toddy wakes up in a wet bed! I don't know if they would be willing to believe anything bad about their little "darling." Those people make me so mad! How could they be so mean to an innocent homeless boy like Bud?

What does everyone else think?

I think the book Bud,Not Buddy is a good book.I believe in the book that Bud kept the flyer because he thought that the picture/flyer was his uncle or dad, some sort of adult that his mom loved.

Hey! I so far like this book Bud, Not Buddy along with the Watsons Go To Birmingham-1963. This author Christopher Paul Curtis does a good job writting books. If Buds father is dead, it may be true because he never saw him. I agree about the flyer being Bud's father picture because his mom probably loved that person on the flyer.
