This book is going good so fare and I believe that Bud's father is a professional Jazz player. If Bud's dad is dead the story would be weird because then there is a boy who has not a family memory. It would be weird because if you look in the back of the book it shows pictures of a baseball player and a Jazz player.I think Buds dad is the man on the flyer, but he is alive still. Does anyone now if this is a true story or just one of those made up real kind of ones? It is a cool book but I want to Know if it's a true story. Anyone who nows if this is a true book please write backto me as soon as possible. Thanks, Joshua :0 Goodbye P.S. What do you think of this book?

Am I the only one who doesnt like the Amoses. They were really mean to Bud. I wouldn't even want to go near them. How could they put a poor little orphin in a shed with a circle of blood in the middle and fish heads by the door. That is just so disgusting and cruel.

I think that Buds Dad is still alive and he is the person on the flyer. Do any of you think that he is the head Jazz player, and what do you think is going to happen next after Bud comes out of the library. Do you think that he is going to go all the way to go to Chicago to find Mss. Hill, actually Mrs. Hill since shes married. I'd love to go to Chicago. Wouldn't you. Also, I'd like to say that if I was in Buds position right now I'd hate to be him. What about you. Also I feel really bad that he's an orphin.Last but not least I need to Know what Bud means about doors opening and closing for a test. So please write to me. Anyone, I don't really care.

What do you guys think this book is about? Is it good?
(I THINK it is) Why is it good? What do you like about the book? What do you think is sad about the book? What would you rate this book from a 1 to a 10 rateing? (I'd say a 10 or 9 99/100.) I have read good books by the author like The Watsons Go To Birmangham 1963. I give that book a 9. There is alot of adventure in the books that Christopher Paul Curtis has writtin. This is an action book and like the Watsons Go To Birmangham 1963 the book is a little sad. I haven'thadtime to really look for books by the author Christopher Paul Curtis yet. He is going to run away all the way to Chicago, Illinois. It is going to be along but adventures trip to Chicago Illinois. He will do it though. Maybe hop in the back of a buggy. THe suitcase is something valuable to him because it holds all his belongings that he has. He won't be an orphin if he finds his dad in a place.(Not dead though) He will never be in an orphanage again! Even though im only on Chapter 8 I don't know if he runs away to another place , like Chicago,Illinois. Bud will run awayand find Miss Hill. I hope Christopher Paul Curtis writes more books so I canread them. Goodbye I like this book sofare.

Am I the only one that thinks that when Bud finds his Dad he will play some Jazz music and Teach Bud to play to. Then maybe they will play together in a band together. Bud must be very sad that his mom died. People who have divorced parents might know how it feels. Just imagine being an orphin. It is very said. Anyway getting back to the point, how many of you think that Bud Not Buddy is a great book. How many of you find that it is very interesting? Do you think that when Bud finds his Dad they will live happily ever after.

I think that Bud is gonna to Chicago and find his father becase on the flyer it probaly said the dates and places where the jazz band were playing and Bud's father is is the jazz band.If Bud finds his father he's probaly gonna have a new mother.Bud is probaly gonna have a younger or older brother of sister. The other men on the flyer is probaly Bud's uncles.Jerry might be a orphan because i think he's gonna escape and go back to the ophanage. Or he might stay with his family cause he might like his new family. In the begining of the book when Bud says his eyes dont cry I know why because he was sad enough whaen his mother died.

We think that Bud will not find his dad ,but he will find a relative close to his mom. Maybe his grandpa is Herman E. Calloway the guy that Bud thinks is his dad on the blue flyer. I think Bud is nice because he's really nice to everyone he meets. He doesn't trust everyone he meets. Like in chapter 9 he acted like he didn't trust the misson. He also didn't trust the cop or Lefty. I think Bud didn't trust Lefty because Bud was grabbing things (like the red pop) out of his hand. Bud acts like he's a grown-up, the way he talked to Lefty, and the way he talked to the people in Hooverville. He's his own boss and can do what he wants. He's taking care of himself. I think I could do as well. What do you think?

I think the book is very good so far. When Bud wanted something to eat and the man said thet he couldn't because the store was closing down. The family that pretended that they were Buds family took Bud in line with them and Bud got some food. When Bud sat down with his pretend family the mom of the family told the little kids to give half of there food to Bud.

Hey! I wish I was Bud because he can go anywhere he wants to and doesn't have to be home at a certain time. The only thing I wouldn't like about that is when I get sick, no one is there to take care of me. Unless he stayed at the Amos's house and Todd wasn't so mean to Bud.

I think the book is becoming quite fascinating! The characters are so great! It is quite gross however, when they talk about getting a ''cool breeze'' while using the ''toilettry'' while hopping trains.
