Hi! Just a reminder: Be careful not to post the same message more than once. It takes up a lot of space on the message board.
Hit the "send my comments" button only once. I know sometimes you might not see your message post right away. What you need to do is hit "reload" or "refresh" and it should then appear. If you are using a version of Netscape, you probably need to clear your disk cache first. (Go to the Help menu or ask your teacher for help. It's pretty simple.

Now—on with the discussion. It's our last day--so there should be plenty to talk about. Share your opinions and back up your opinions with concrete details from the book.

For those of you finished with the book: Why do you think Christopher Paul Curtis included his Afterword? Do you think this is important to the story?

According to Curtis, why is it important to talk to older relatives and friends and "keep their stories alive?" Do you agree with Curtis?

This book is so good I always want to read ahead but I don't. I don't think that Herman E. Calloway is his dad but I do think that he is a relative of Bud. My favorite person in the band is Doug the Thug.

Buds new nick name is cool. It is kind of wierd that he likes the name Sleepy LaBone. My favorite is steady Eddie, whats Yours.

That mean Calloway guy needs to take a chill pill. Its like if somone say his name in the wrong tone he blows up on them. I don't even think that he is Buds dad because he is so old. What do you think?
