Dear Ms. Samples,
Thank you very much for your words of support, I'm overwhelmed and delighted that The Watsons can be of some help to teachers. I think LaVar Burton did a great job reading the book.

Sincerely,
Christopher

To the student from Heflin,
Byron vomited because he'd eaten a bag and a half of the cookies then topped it off with a bunch of green apples! Enough to make anyone toss their cookies!

Dear Miss Haig,
Wow! I really appreciate your words. I'm glad you were able to tie the book in with a discussion of the civil rights movement. I hope Bud, Not Buddy is as much fun as well, I had a lot of fun writing it too.

Hello Breanne,
The "Lipless Wonder" came to me like most of the other parts of the book, while just letting my imagination run wild. One thing leads to another and I'm surprised at the names and situations that come up.

Hello Bryan,
My wife, Kay, was the main encouragement I had to write the book. She gave me a year off work to sit down and write. She had more faith in my abilities than I did. I'm very, very lucky.

Hi Adam,
It's a lot of fun when the whole class can get together and read or listen to the same book isn't it? It seems as though many people like the first chapter the most, thank you for writing.

Hi Darryll,
Right now I don't have any plans to do a sequel to the book. I think the Watson family has been through enough, I really can't imagine anything that would make me continue them. But, you never know, maybe someday I'll change my mind.

Hello Robbie,
Thank you very much. I love writing, I have so much fun at it that I laugh out loud when I'm "working." Don't let anyone know, maybe they'll make me pay them to publish my books!

Hi Kristi,
Thanks, Kristi. I have no idea where the ideas come from. Try it though, pretend you're telling a story, start with one idea and watch how it grows into more and more ideas. Using your imagination is a riot!

Hello Hollie,
I'm glad you liked the book. It was scary when the church was bombed, wasn't it? Try to imagine how the families of the people who were in the real church that this happened to felt, it must have been horrible. Thank you for your comments.

Hello Tonie,
While waiting for all of the re-writes of Bud, Not Buddy to be done I'm starting to work on making Mr. Chickee's Funny Money a better book. Maybe that will be my third novel.

Hello Amanda,
I am very, very interested in writing more books. I love writing, and to have other people enjoy what I do is such a great feeling. I hope to produce many, many more books. Thank you for your question.
