Here are some questions to help you think about what to write. (They're just ideas--you don't have to answer any of them if you don't want to!) Chapters 17-18 If you were Brian, would you try to get the survival pack out of the plane? Why? If you would, how? Predict the ending of the story. Chapter 19 and Epilogue The book says that the survival pack gave Brian "up and down feelings." What do you think this means? Did your predictions about the end of the story come true? What, if anything, surprised you about the ending? How has Brian's life been changed permanently by this experience? What did the Epilogue tell you about Gary Paulsen's purpose for writing this book?
