This book is Boring, but it can be intresting. About 3 times a chapter he can do some pretty stupid things, but he has his moments. I think the (Searchers) as he calls them won't find him,but then again they might. As of now Brian is a lost kid in the wilderness who just lost everything he gained because of a tornado.

The cow attacking was weird. Why would it want to attack? The book doesn't say that it had babbies near by. The tornado was freeky. You could picture what it looked like from all the movies you've seen with tornados in them.See Ya Later!

Why is everyone talking about his nails falling off? They never fell off! And what is so decusting about eating raw turtle eggs and burries? Brian was starving and needed food.If you were dieing of hunger wouldn't you do the some thing the did? It's not like a super market was in the woods near him. Brian was alone with only a hachet and he needed to do what he needed to do to servive,even if it ment killing and eating little fish birds and rabbits.

This book is ok but i dont like it alot i would never be able to live in the woods if i was sleeping i would probably roll into the fire and kill myself and if i ever saw a bear i would have throwne the hatchet at the bear if it tried to attack me but i would just run if i saw a bear in front of me I am on chapter 17 and i think that brian is not goin to be rescued but i think he will survive and i think if he does survive there should be another book about this! this book is kind of boring but in the begining when he crashed the plane was the best part but i hope this book starts to get better because it isnt that fun reading about someone lost in the woods unless he was like fighting with bears and other big animals!! if there was another book about this would anyone read it??? write back with your answers....well i gotta bounce so ill cya l8er bye

I think the skunk affected Brian because now Brian knows he has to build a better shelter and store his food somewhere different. He could improve his shelter by adding a door and making a place to hide the food, like hanging it in a tree. He could also hide the food somewhere high in his shelter.

What is your favorite part?
My favorite part was when the big Moose attacked Brian.That was cool.I wonder why brian didn't run when he saw it. I would have darted right out of there back to the leen-to. Brain was freeked out when the female Moose saw him. To bad the moose did not chase Brian around the lake or some where else. Brian is really brave to me (not). The tornado was awsome. Brian was a chicken when he saw that. Brian is cool. So see ya.

Hewwo Anthony and no i dont take your ideas. I think its neat how he builds a raft and gets the survival pack. i think the story would have ended alot better if someone tries to save him but his pl ane crashes anmd theyare both stuck and a yearlater another on comes and another and another until finally someone actuall y lands the plane and saves them all. That ewould be 4400056473680000 times better. this book is really really really neat. I have already read this book so I know what happens ut, i am not aloud to say what happens or I will get in troule. I read this book at least threee times and i still like the part where........ o i forgot i can't tell you whell i'll give you a hint its the last scentance in chapter nine -teen. i recomend a book just like it it is called fourty-eight years in the jungle. well as hawians would say Mahalo for reading this and for now ALOHAAA!!!

I think this book is getting cooler because the cow almost killed brian. He should of through the hatchet at the cow and shot is bow and arrows at and speared it and when it was dead he should of skinned it and put it over his shelter so it would keep him warm.then when he was done he should of cook it and ate it and give some to the fish that he had in the lake.and if he would of done that he would have alot of food and alot of fish because the fish would be healthy and i like this book alot more now because at the begining all he did was sit their and cry know hes getting atacked by cows and trying to kill his self.and thats why i like the book more now because their is more action then at the beging

At first I thought this bok was pretty boring, but then when I started to read further on it was interesting.I think it was dicussting when he ate the turtle eggs,but he really needed food or he would have died.It must have smelled really bad when the skunk had sprayed him.Instead of just smiling at the skunk when it was stealing his food,he should have tried to scare it away.I think that it was pretty weird that the Grizzly bear didn't attack Brian when it saw him;and Brian was eating the same food supply as the bear and the bear could have thought that Brian was trying to eat all of it's food,but it just kept moving along ,minding it's own business.

So far the book is kinda' laim because ever since chpter 6 he same thing hs been happenin'. That 1 part wa complety grose like when he ate he turle eggs raw. I would never eat any kind of egg raw. Another thing i wanna no is does he ever stop throwin'^? In the part when the porcipine fell on his leg the auther wrote that part of the book like it didn't even hurt when he got all those little prickly porcipine spike thingers stuck in his leg. I would think that would hurt just a little bit if not alot. I don't no about u but it would hurt my leg a little bit.

i know that most people think the book
is boring, but if you think about it, there
has been a lot of action. Brian has crashed
landed a plane, built a shelter and tools,
found food, got attacked by a moose, and
survived a tornado. He also has a crazy, but
useful idea to get the survival pack out from
the plane. I think that this book is rather good
and keeps you wanting to read it. i agree with
shae&laura that it keeps you in suspense. Whoever
said that he should travel on and look for his dad,
I disagree with you. I think he should just stay
where he is and pray that he is found soon.I think
that Brian was lucky to have survived the tornado
w\o having been injured badly. I don't know what
was wrong with the moose, but, in my opinion, it
had no reason to attack Brian the way he did. he
did not pose any threat to it and he wasn't in its
way. I also thought that it was a good thing that
he had all those teachers that helped to remember
things, suchas to "get motivated and stay on top
of things" and that he remembered that light
reflects off of water and so the fish weren't really
were they seemed to be. With that information,
he was able to catch fish. What do you think about
the book??

The description of the impact between the skunk and Brian is a little strange for me.The skunk must have had attacked Brian to defend himself.For Brian it would be nice if he learned something.
My feelings are that I really want Brian to leave the forest because he can't live like that for the rest of his life.Some suplies might go low or barely gone.
What I think is going to happen next is that Brian could live like that.I'm just saying if he is lucky or has a miracle because he might live like Tarzan or so I'm sure that somebody might find him sooner or later they just have to find him.
I like it when he is thinking about stuff or something that might happen next.For me I think that he worries like me sometimes.Maybe some things were meant to like that.

morgan and dom, his finger nails fall off on pg. 24 or something (when he crashes in the plane). it was cool how the moose beat the crap out of brian and then when the tornado hit that was cool. but i mean how could he survive a tornado that is like 20 ft. away from him. i think it should be more realistic (he should have DIED, spun around and chucked 4 miles away and hit a tree and DIED)

know as you all know brian meets a moose/cow and some wolves. blah blah blah. you'd think the book would get better but I am on chapter 17 and so far i have realized the book is getting bad. the tornado, the moose/cow, the wolves, and the plain are not making anything exciting. well know it IS getTinG bad. the tail of the plane means brian goes to get the survival pack. now that is a hypothesis but i think we all know. bye

don't you think it is totally not fair that all these terible things are happening to him. I think the skunk was good because it made him take a bath. If i were brian , when the Moose attacked me i would have froze in fright just as brian did. The tornado was a total surprise to me. Even though i read this book before it is better the second time.

We don't like this book. It's boring. The whole thing is about a kid in a forest. This book has an obvious ending. Brian gets saved. In all books. What is the point of a book if we already know the ending? Brian dives down to the bottem of the lake and finds the survival kit in the plane. Matt said Brian ate poop?! That's some sick stuff people! Even though we think this book stinks, it's gotten a lot better. We are on chapter 17;almost done the book. We think that this book is almost impossible - to happen - for him to have everything seem to put together, he finds eggs, the bears let him eat the berries, the moose(cow) hits him and he walks away with no broken bones, The plane doesn't seem him(smoke) and he tries to commit suicide and lives.

I like the fact that a moose hit him twice. I also like the fact that a tornado came,ruined his shelter and almost killed him. I like don't like the part when brian hears a plane but the plane didn't hear him so they just leave him there. Then Brian gets sad and there is another chapter of him doing nothing. that is why I don't like it.I just think that the book is a little boring.

I really agree with you. The turtle eggs weren't disgusting. I mean, if your in the wilderness you would want something other than berries. Also I can't believe that he accually cooked chicken with his fire. This remindes me of a show called Gilligan's Island. I think it was you which said the same thing. What was your favorite part in the chapter? Mine was when the tornato occured. I acctually thought that he was going to die. But he couldn't have if he was going to be throughout the whole storie (book).Do you think the author expressed the chapter good. I think he did.

I think this book is very good. I also like the sequals they are good too. I thind that some things he does he could do better but he does very well. like when he found the turtle eggs he could have cooked them over the fire or something. But he is pretty good w/ the whole fire thing and all, and it was pretty smart to fix his so called "home." He should have made it out of wood and the mesh stuff and not just mesh. It could hold out longer and be stronger. i feel bad that he got run over by a moose. OUCH! he has had some pretty amzing things happen to him and not all of them were good. actually barely any of them were good, but there were some good things and hopes alot of hopes.

i think the book is getting worse than it was in the begining. some of the thins that brian is doing to survive are pretty complicated for a a kid of that age he is like some kind of a superkid considering he is a city boy.he is extremly talented. he works pretty well in the nature. if i were him i would have been dead. so far the chapters are relitivly boring except for the tornado part. you can tell the book is fiction because if you took your average kid and put him or her in the wilderness they would probably be dead by this time i mean come on the kid is a super kid of nature. write back if you think otherwise.

do you like this book? i don't. the only part i like about this book is when brian gets attacted by a moose. i bet that hurt really bad. it would hurt me. i bet it hurt for a week or two. when he got out of the water the first time the moose attacked him again. when he got out of the water the second time he stayed on the ground and the moose didn't attack him. i wish the moose did attack him.

I think the book is still boring but I liked a couple of parts like when the tornado came and blew everything away including his own shelter. I also liked when Brian saw that the tail of the plane was sticking out of the lake. My favorite part of all is when the moose and tried to beat up Brian. I hope that the book will get better at the very end.

This book is ok. It is starting to get better ever since the mental moose viciousally attacked Brian. Also another interesting part is when the tornado blew the camp to smitherines. Hi peoples. Wus Up! This book is getting better. I like the way he made a food shelf to keep hiss food, and rebuilt the shelter, and made an area to keep fish he trapped and also the way he learned to cattch the ""foolbirds". i liked this because when the tornado hit it destroyed everything. This is neat because you could "read it right out of the book" that something destrutive and dangerous was going to happen.That is why it was neat.
I also liked the part when the cow came into the story and headbutted him again again, and again. I think that he should have just ran for his life or climbed up a tree instead of taking half of a step and then watching the cow's hairs go up and down. Even though he may have gotten hurt

Im sorry but I just have to bring p the subject of Brian having his fingernails fall off! That was Nasty!
I have read chapters 1-16.I really hate reading but this is making it is so fun for me! I never thought reading was this interesting. I like tis book because it is interesting and it shows it is possible to survive alone in the wilderness. This book is good so far because Brian has become a new Brian and is understanding how o survive now! If I were him I would have not of eaten those eggs because that is just gross the way they describe in the book. It is nasty! If I were him i would be lookin for fruit, meat, animals, ad vegitbles ad stuff like that. I wouldn't be getting ma that he is stuck tere and he has to fell sorry for himself. The more he feels sorry for himself th more he is gonna mess up out there in the wilderness. He should be out doing what i said he should do!He is so lucky he survived that tornando. He could have been killed! Its a good thing this is the new Brian ot the old because if this was the old I think Brian would be killed! I have happy he survived the tornandoe! If he died the story would have just ended! Would you do wat I think?

Hi other readers. Do you like this book. i think ts gong both ways. boring and excting. the first half of the book was boring and then started to get a lot more excting. My friend says that a plane flys over, but its a different one than the one in chapter 10, and sees him then brings him to safety. Anyway i can't blieve that he tries to comit suicde in chapter 13 i think. The part i liked was when the skunk sprayed him and took the turtle eggs and ate them. I wonder if the fish ever jump out of the little ditch he made. I think he will survive because almost ever novel i have read ends with a happy ending.

To whoever thinks his fingernails didn't fall off, they did!!! When he was trying to take his seat belt off, in the water, he ripped his nails off. It was disgusting.

How do you like the book so far? I already finished the book so I know it's not that exciting. I'm still surprise he could eat those turtle eggs. And the tornado, he's lucky he survived. Especially with his ribs hurt. Now that the tail of the plane is above the water I think he should get the survival bag. That would be thinking sensible for once. Someone write back!!!!!!!!! please!!!
