It sounds like boot camp except for Mr.Pendanski, the camp counsellor. The warden sounds like he should be in the camp, digging holes. The book said it was really hot and dry there. We think the setting sets a sad and angry mood. If we were out there everyday, we'd dig our holes as fast as possible to get inside. We think that it feels rotten when you tell the truth but no one ever believes you. You almost feel betrayed. p.s-please reply!

I think he didn't carry the pig up the mountain for the last time because he didn't want to marry Myra. He decided not to marry her because she wanted to pick a number so she could marry one of them. That is silly.

I would say this is the best book of the year.I also liked the book because it really has detail to make it interesting. For example, one page 16 it really described what Mr. sir looks like; he has no hair and is not as scary looking as Mr. Pendanski.

For example, on page 44 it says,"There was a hole in the far wall, and an electric fan had been placed in front of it.Cheap air conditioning.At least the fan worked." Even though I've read the book it's fun to share my thoughts with you. I know all of you will enjoy the book it's one of my favorites.(I'm a book person). Do you like the book so far? I really liked it! We made a model of Holes. One model was of Green lake when the camp was there and it showed the camp buildings, and the holes! We also made a model of Green Lake like it looked like in the past. They turned out great! Hey, I hope you enjoy the rest of the book! I know I did!!
