Yes I agree with you, I would keep Shiloh if I was in Marty's shoes. Not only for your reasons, but for reasons like Judds other dogs would fight Shiloh, Judd would kick Shiloh and Marty loves Shiloh like a person, not a dog.

I do think that Marty would do that for Judd's other dogs because Judd mistreats his dogs and Marty is really caring and from what we have been reading I think he really loves dogs.

Do you think Marty is going to try to hide Shiloh or not give him back? I think Marty is going to try to somehow hide him or not give him back because he looks determined not to give Shiloh back without a fight. I think that Marty is going to give Shiloh to someone. What do you think?

I think it was Marty's fault when the German Shepherd
bit Shiloh. I think Marty should' ve built the fence for
Shiloh's pen higher. Marty was lucky that Shiloh did not
die from that bite because he would have had to pay
Judd a lot of money and his family doesn't have a lot
of money. I think Marty should be more careful if he's keeping somebody's property.

I think David will buy Shiloh for Marty because David loves the dog too. Micheal and Shawna, do you think David will buy Shiloh from Judd for Marty?

David has already found out about Shiloh. David said he would not tell and accidently mentioned Shiloh's name to his mother. After that David tells Shiloh is just a stray cat. So I agree with you because I also think David will play an important part.

How do you think Marty feels about leaving Shiloh at Doc Murphy's house? We think Marty feels nervous because Doc Murphy might tell Judd, and he would be mad at Marty, and might hurt or kill Shiloh.

Do you guys think that Marty's dad will change his mind and let Marty keep Shiloh? If you do, why? I think he will let him keep Shiloh because his dad seems that he cares about Shiloh getting beaten.Do you think it is Marty's fault or the Bakers' fault for Shiloh getting hurt? I think it is the Bakers' fault.

What did you do for the compare/contrast conflicts? I did a scene from The Subtle Knife ( I know most of you probably haven't read that book)where the subtle knife broke and Will tried to make these people think the knife wasn't broken. It is similar to Marty's conflict because they both tried to fool someone. It is different because Will was trying to save people's lives and Marty is trying to save a dog's life.

I think David is not going to buy Shiloh from Judd because Judd wouldn't know what he's talking about. Judd also might use the money to buy more dogs to hurt. Brandon,do you think Judd will be nice to Marty when Judd finds out that Marty has Shiloh or very mean?

I don't agree with you that it was Marty's fault that Shiloh got bitten. If you had an animal that wasn't yours, and you knew if you gave it back that it would get hurt, you wouldn't have time to worry about how high a fence is, since you would be so caught up in trying to get food and shelter for the animal. To me it was the Baker's fault that Shiloh got hurt because they don't take responsibility for their animal's actions. So do you understand what I mean?

Haris, I don't agree with you. I don't agree with you because maybe the Baker's dog hadn't gotten out and gone to Marty's house before. I think it's the Bakers fault because they don't keep their dog chained up. Also maybe Marty didn't have any more wood when he had built Shiloh's pen, so he couldn't build higher walls.
Do you think diffrently about what you said now? If you do will you please write back to me? Thanks.

What do you think about the German Shepard and Shiloh deal? How do you think the German Shepard found his way up to Shiloh's pen? Here's what I think. About the first question
I think the big dog was trained to kill. About the second question, I think that the dog found his way up because of the smell of the dog, so he wanted to see what it was.

Were you suprised that Marty's dad will let Marty keep Shiloh until he's well again? I was sort of suprised about that. If Shiloh was your dog and you had a choice would you want leave him at the doctor's so he gets well again or take him home? I would probably leave Shiloh at the doctor's so he could get well again because if I took him home I wouldn't know what to do if Shiloh got hurt again.

Will dad make Marty tell Judd himself? We think he will because it was Marty that took Shiloh and lied to everyone.

Hi! I just want to remind everyone to try not to give away too much too soon. We want to be considerate of all readers on the discussion board.

Remember that our discussion isn't scheduled to end until the week of December 21—so let's not talk about the ending just yet. Maybe we can focus on Chapters 1 through 10 this week, and Chapters 11 through 15 next week. Thanks!

Here's another little reminder: We love reading your comments! I'm serious--they've really been great. I like how people from different schools are talking to one another.
