I think Marty feels sorry and doesn't feel sorry for Judd at the same time. Marty doesn't feel sorry for Judd because he is mean to his dogs. Marty feels sorry for Judd because Judd was raised by mean parents. I feel sorry for Judd because he was always beaten as a child.

Marty's choices at the end of chapter 6 are he has to lie or he has to give Shiloh up. I think Marty is going to lie even more than he is now.

I think that Phyllis Reynolds Naylor got this idea of writing this book by walking in a field by herself on a summer day.
Do think that Phyllis Reynolds Naylor was poor just like Marty?

Michael, do you think Marty should have made the deal with Judd or not?

Shawna, Judd makes Marty do work and Marty gets the dog after all. Shawna, this book has been good and now I am done. This is the second last day then I'm finished the group.

Marty feels sorry for Judd because his parents were mean to him and that's the way he is and he may never change. Judd will be just like his parents.

The new conflict is that Marty has to keep lying because he needs to keep Shiloh alive. Marty has to keep it a secret .

I do not think Marty is crazy for talking to Judd like that because if it was for saving something you love you've got to be brave.

I think that if the Bakers chained up their dog they would
be mistreating their dog because I think the German
Shepherd dog isn't that mean. If their dog is that mean
I think they should take their dog to the pound or they
should take their dog to an animal aid. If the Bakers did
chain up their dog, I think the dog wouldn't respect its
owner and I think it would try to get away from its owner.
What do you think?

I do think that it was a good idea to make a deal with Judd because he would probably hurt Shiloh and Marty wouldn't like that. I think that Marty's first job was ironic because he had to work for somebody he hates. Would do you all think?

I think Marty is crazy when he talks to Judd like that because Judd has the ability to put a bullet hole through Marty's head. Also, if someone told the Game Warden Judd could probably talk his way right out of it because he talks people into believing him alot like when he convinced the old store clerk that he had paid him twenty dollers when really he had only paid him ten dollars to get more change. I think that without a doubt judd Travers is the most dishonest person in the story so If Marty doesn't want a bullet hole right through his head I'd advise him to stay away from Judd because he is bad trouble. He should have a life sentence in jail for shooting that doe out of season. I mean if he really wanted some meat he could stop drinking all that Ice cold beer and sell some of it and i'm sure he'd make a little bit of money.

I think Judd's got a soft spot and that when he let Marty have Shiloh it was the deal they made and it was his soft spot working. What do you think?

I don't think Marty is crazy because he is sticking up for Shiloh and Marty treats Shilo very well. I think that it is ironic that Marty's first job is working for Judd because Marty thinks the last person he'd want to work for is Judd.
