We think Number the Stars is an emotional book. It is interesting because the book tells about what happened between the Jews and the Nazis. We have enjoyed the book so far because it's about kids our age and what they went through during World War II.

This book is very interesting because it has kids my age and it's about World War II. I really like it so far because Kristi stood up to the soldiers and she wasn't scared.

We read Chapter 1 today. We thought about what we would do if
we were Annemarie and got stopped by the police. If I was in
Annemarie's place I would have been very scared. I think I would
have said just what Annemarie said and answered their questions, but
I would have said nothing more. If I was Annemarie's sister (Kirsti)
I would have just stood there and let the soldier touch my hair.
When he said that I was pretty I would have smiled and said in
my sweetest voice, "thank you."

This book reminds me of a book we read last year about Golda Meir because it is in the same time period and it involved the persecution of Jewish people. Have you read any other books like this that take place during World War II?
