My favorite part of the book was when she told the soldier she was going to see her Uncle Henrik. I actually thought she was going to say, "We're going to my Uncle Henrik's house and it's Ellen's New Year!" But instead she talked about her shiny, black fish shoes! That was my favorite part of the book!

that was my favorite part of chapter 5 also. I just got a Bible and I am going to Girl Scout camp for a week. I think the Johansens convinced the soldiers that Ellen was Lise. So they have to move just in case the soldiers come back. You tell me what you think will happen next.

Wow! That sounds like a good idea. Thanks! Now my class is going to do that, too. I'm excited because I want to know it's like to be Jewish and have to give something away. One thing that I would have a hard time doing is parting with my family, my mom, dad, my brother and sister. I would also have a hard time living somewhere else because I've lived in my house for about five years. One other thing that I would have a hard time giving away is two stuffed animal cats that my dad and my Uncle Shawn gave me when I was born. Also a white teddy bear that my mom and dad gave me when I was born.

I beleive that l chapter is intresting when the solders come in there house and suspect they are hiding peole there not sopose to.I am glad Khristi slepth throu it. It was smart that they took of the neckles. About chapter 5! We both really liked chapter 5,6 & 7.
Our favorite part was the part when the 3 soldiers came
into there house and when Annemarie grabbed Ellens necklace.

Chapter 6 was when they went up to see there uncle Henrik
so that they could go up there and hide from the Nazis soliers
and they could hide with there uncle Henrik.

heard of her since her mom told her alot about
her child hood but she never came across great aunt

handicapped people, African Americans and people with other religions,

In a book I'm reading, the people have to leave behind a lot of their belongings, like their pets, and they can only take their most special
belongings. They had to leave their house and live somewhere else.

Well, I disagree because they are not going to give it away that

I agree with you that Kirsti doesn't know what's going on because in
Chapter 1 she hit the soldier's arm and in chapter 6 she isn't
scared, she just talks to them. I thought that chapter 6 wasn't
suspenseful because Kirsti just was saying, "I'm going to my
uncle's house with new black shoes." People thought it was suspenseful
because it looked like Kirsti was going to say, "It's my sister's
friend Ellen's New Year." Did you?
