I think that Aunt Birtie is a fake, because chapter nine is called "Why are you lying?".So I think that is what Annemarie will ask Uncle Henrik. What do you think will happen next?

We talked about that. Some people thought that he was in resistance group.I didn't think that he was, because he was kind and was like a brother to Annemarie and Ellen . He is sneky because he dosen't want to get caught.

To Andi, Allyson, Melissa: I really love this book!! Some parts are very suspenseful. That's why I like it. Is that why you like it? Yes, because we don't have the Germans taking or killing our siblings. I would be so afraid!! I would scream if they tried to take my parents or my siblings. I might have told them to kill me or take me with them, but not my family. Wouldn't you?

I think that from the chapter's name, "There Has Been a Death.", Ellen's parents are going to die. I sure hope not. Otherwise, Ellen might never be happy again. I sure wouldn't. If so, Ellen will probably live with the Johansens for the rest of her life. Do you think so?

I felt sorry for Ellen too because it was her Star of David that her papa gave her when she was young. That is why. Does anyony else? Why do you?

I also feel sorry for Ellen because she has to be separated from her parents. All the hardships she is going though, For Example: When the soldiers came and she thought she might be taken away by them. Now she [Ellen] is at uncle Henrik's house in Gillileje. She is feeling happy and confortable in Gillileje.

Dear Amanda & garland,
I am finished with the book and enjoyed it lots! in chapter 10-14 was the most exciting because there was no one in the casket it was just clothes for the jews! i thought peter and mama and henrick were very brave because they helped the jews get to freedom. when mama broke her ankle and anne marie went and helped her she found out that mr.rosen had dropped the little thing that helled sence in it so the nazi dogs would loose their sence of smell. Annemarie had to be brave to go through the woods with the little box and a lunch for her uncle who was a fisherman.
when the nazis stopped her i felt like that was me and i got very scarred i wouldnt have known what to do when he asked what the little package was.
i would have been scared out of my mind!
your friend,
ashley
