We read chapter 3 today and I think Winnie wanted to run away because she wants freedom. She doesn't want all the attention put on her, and she doesn't want to feel trapped. I feel like this too because my mom puts all her attention on me and doesn't let me go out on my own.

I never felt the way Winnie did when she felt like her mom paid too much attention to me. But, I felt like running away before like Winnie did.Have you ever felt like running away before like Winnie did?Do you think your mother pays to much attention to you?

I think it is pretty weird that Winnie was talking to a frog, do you? Just what if she really does run away? I think she would miss her folks. Mae Tuck is really excited about Miles and Jesse to come. How would you feel about seeing your child every 10 years?

MESSAGE:
Do you like this book so far? Well I do,it is funny and I like funny books. I don't think Winnie will ever run away.I think talking to a frog is not very smart. I think Winnie won't run away because she will miss her mom, her dad, and her grandmother.Mae Tuck sounds like she is a very nice mom to her sons Jesse and Miles.I think Winnie may go outside and never run away. She would want to be near her family if she ran away ,and that could be a good hiding place. What do you think will happen in the next chapter? Do you think Winnie will ever run away? I hope you write soon,
Sincerely,Laura

Dear Melissa, Osmin, Reyna, and Nancy,
Thank you for writing to me. The question you asked me,I think clothes because they never change sizes that they wear.I don't think the sons weren't going to know her because they has looked the same for eighty-seven years.I can't wait to see what happens next.I enjoyed the prologue the most out of the chapters we just read.

Dear Jessie,
I think the Big Ash tree is sooooo important because that is where the spring is. I think the author spent a lot of time on the path because it might become important in the story.

MESSAGE:
Jessie,
I think maybe the Ash Tree is so important because its roots have something to do with it. I also think that they described the path so much because you wouldn't want to read a book that says "They walked along the path."

In chapters 3 and 4 I agree with Winnie that it would be easier in her life if she had a brother or sister so she wouldn't be watched on all the time. I find the stranger suspicious and he asked a lot of questions. I have to go now see ya!

In Chapter 4, as they were talking about the man in the yellow hat it reminded me of Curious George. Did you think of him? I do not believe in forest elves or very many other myths. Do you?

I think the book is very interesting.
