This book was unpredictable. If I were the little girl I would be totaly scared of going into the jail. The story had a sad ending.

Hey,
Andrew, I think what you said was right. I think maybe Winnie might die at the end. But, that's just a guess. I think it's pretty cool that the Tuck's house is messy.

MESSAGE:
Dear Julie B. and Laura S.
Thank you for writing back. Do you think the strange man that came in the yellow suit is mean?He doesn't sound mean.Well, I don't think Winnie and her family have lived there forever.Do you? Well, maybe her old family but not her.I knew Winnie wouldn't run away. She would be too scared to be out there on her own, but how can you think about a frog and then decide if you will run away or not.I think that a frog might even forget about you. Winnie is too young to like Jesse.

Please write back, Laura.

Hi... we like the book so far. we have thought about running away a lot, but when we think about more, it seems stupid. You shouldn't run away, you would have no money, food, or shelter. I think that the stranger man in the yellow suit is going to kidnap Winnie, he seems really weird. What do YOU think? Please respond. Thank you.

Dear Jessie,
I agree with you that maybe the tree is magical. I wonder if anybody else has found out about the tree. If they have, where are they? Since Winnie has her mom and grandmother's trust why didn't she run away long ago? I sure would have!

MESSAGE:
On page 17, do you think the man is going to kidnap Winnie like she wanted to? I wonder what the man wants from Winnie?

Today we did foreshdowing and imagery it was neat because Crystal found the answers before everyone. I thought it was kind of confusing when we found out what the words meant. We think that working in our group is fun to do even if we get more homwork.
