Hello!!! Mae and the Tucks are still in trouble even though Mae crushed or slammed the stranger's skull. Now every one will found out she can't die when she is getting hanged at the gallows. At least the stranger can't tell, but the whole town will see!!!!!!! I hope Winnie's plan works. She has become more brave. After reading about Jesse giving her water to keep until she is 17 and all;I think winnie will marry Jesse. I hope you know before the book ends. It seems to keep coming up. I think it will be said. Poor Mae. She could proably take a little in, being the "great potato of a woman" she is. But it hurts to be hanged, even if she will never die. anyone respond :) {thanks Mrs. morris} |

MESSAGE:
Dear Mrs. Morris, It is nice to see another teacher out here. My class is absolutely loving this book. When I assign some work to read or respond to, they are actually excited about it and even say it is fun! We could no longer wait to finish the book so we went ahead! Is your class enjoying this as much as we are? We just made paintings on the pond, the wood, or Treegap using all the wonderful imagery and descriptions. They look great! Our next project will be to create a storyboard on the life cycle of any living thing they choose. I can't wait! Hope you continue to enjoy the story! Mrs. Haberkern |

Dear Calvin, Do you like when Mae hit the man in the yellow suit? He got what he asked for.Hey,I think Jesse shouldn't have been in the wood in the first place! Maybe Winnie could have found the Tucks by herself. Well since she didn't, the book is good anyway. |

MESSAGE:
Dear Lauren, sorry I have not been responding lately,I was busy.I just finished reading chapters 20-21.I can't believe what Mae had did!I had a feeling that he would die because if you get hit in the head then you are most likely to die. Couldn't Mae have handeled that a different way? That was indeed a tradegy.I'm starting to think that you were right about Winnie dying. It seems that she is getting herself in big trouble. The book is starting to get really sad and even more intresting than it already is! I think we reached the climax!(The big, really intresting part of a book or a story.)I wonder what is going to happen to Mae.Do you think she will regret what she did even if she didn't like the stranger? Maybe, not now but maybe later? If I was Mae, I surely would regret someday if I killed someone!Oh how good this book is! PLEASE RESPOND SOON! |

Dear Lauren,I'm sorry I didn't write back to you but we just finished chapters 20 and 21.It was a tradegy when the man in the yelliw suit died. He should of left the Tucks alone. He prabalay knew the Tucks was going to bring Winnie back to the Fosters home. The man in the yellow suit just wanted the wood he wasen't going to do any good with it anyway because now he's DEAD.Mae is not going to die if they hang her by the rope beacause she drank the spring. I hope Mae's going to be all right. I think she is going to be all right beacause she's a strong woman. I hope Jesse and Miles will do good without her. I think in those days it was like the early 1900's beacause they don't mention no cars.PLease Respond. |

MESSAGE:
Dear Ben I also think that the man in the yellow suit is going to do something to prove that the Tuck's will live forever. He might black mail them to find out where the spring is located. Yeah it was pretty funny for her to marry him when she turned seventeeen. She might have to drink from the spring so she can live forever and marry Jesse.Probbably I'm guessing she won't marry him because I also agree with you she might meet another boy. Please write back soon! |
