To Brennon J. at Landis Elementary: Thanks a lot for writing to tell me about the mistake on the Send page. I didn't get your message yesterday, but I got the one you sent this morning, and I've fixed the error. It probably would have stayed "Shiloh" forever if you hadn't alerted me--I never thought to check that page! Liz G. |

Hey Deepa S.! I wrote back to you! Look on Dec.10. We were wondering about your name. Where does it come from? Joey should have said something to Ms.Davidson about that angel being white. I would have painted it brown too! Mrs.Watson is so weird she scares me! Do you think she is weird? Bryon knew he wasn't going to be able to keep his promise. Buphead can't do anything about it. The next time sees Bryon is probably going to be in the summer of 1964. To:Branden B. I don't think Kenny's mom can plan everything because she doesn't know what's going to happen. They could get a flat tire or something else could happen. I agree with you,the wtsons should have went by plane, but maybe they can't afford it. GOT TO GO!! PLEASE RESPON!!! Do you think it was a good idea for Dad to ignore Momma's plan and keep driving? Why? I don't think it was a good idea for Dad to keep driving because they could hit something. He could get really tired and might fall asleep. Another reason it is dangerous is at night there are many drunk drivers. Do you think Dad will crash or make it safely to Alabama alive? |

I am responding to chapter 10. Why do you think Daddy is trying to change the plans? I think Daddy is wanting to get out of Alabama because in the south whites don't like blacks. I guess dad knew about the K.K.K Clan and didn't want his family to get hurt. Or dad just didn't want to stop. Do you think they will have a crash because dad will get tired? |

What do Kenny and Byron think of the places in the South that they've seen so far? I think Byron was surprised about how how the South's restrooms are different from the bathroom they have at their house. I also think Kenny didn't mind having to use the restroom in the woods until Byron told him about the Rednecks. Also, I think that Kenny is kind of scared because they're down South and the racism is bad. I think Byron's scared but just doesn't show it. What do you think? |

MESSAGE:
Chapter 10: Hey People! This chapter is boring, in my opinion. Although it made me laugh when Kenny couldn't swallow the peanut butter sandwhich that his mom made. He had to wash it down with grape Kool-aid, and that tasted awful, too. I am starting to feel a tad bit sorry for Byron. The description of the South so far doesn't sound too good. I think his parents are sending him to Birmingham not because they are fed up with his pranks and disobeying. I think it is becase they want him to relize that he is growing up, and he has to take some responsibility. I think it would be kind of fun to travel to another state. It would fun to travel. When I grow up I want to travel to London, Paris, Sweden, and Holland. Those countries are interesting to me. Which country would you like to visit? If anybody in this Book Club likes mysteries, I am recomending A Deadly Game of Magic by Joan Lowery Nixon. So long! |

Presenting Minal S. here! I have read Chapter 10. I think it is nasty that Joetta drools while she is sleeping. Poor Kenny. I have no idea what it feels like to have slob dripping down your pants, but I bet it is gooey, and nasty. It was mean of Byron to put Joetta's head there while Kenny was asleep. I mean if you just woke up, and felt slob on your pants, what would you do? (Markita has responded to this message.) |

I think the Watsos' are wierd because Byron got his tongue stuck on the window by kissing his own reflection. The Watsons' family is also funny sometimes it's because of how they act and more. The Watsons' family sometimes is good because they don't really do bad stuff! |

MESSAGE:
Momma is way to organized. She planned out what each person would eat and drink. Kenny really must hate the peanut butter sandwiches because he actually drank the Kool Aid. Byron must have been really desperate not to have Joey's head on his lap. They all slept a long time because it was dusk when Kenny woke up and listened to Momma and Dad talk. Those outhouses were really nasty! At least they had toilet paper instead of a Sears catalog. Kenny was very brave to go to the bathroom in the outhouse. Momma must not have needed to go because it didn't talk about her reaction. I don't think Dad should have kept on driving because they ended up high in the mountains. Byron must have been scared of his own story about the hillbillys because even he started running. Kenny must really like to listen to "Yakety Yak." It would be nice to feel the wind up there in the mountains. |

Hey, What'z up? I just read Chapter 10, and did the questions! To:Lee- Hey, what'z up? O.K., my name is Deepa, (as you already know) and I am Indian. I was born here in Houston though. My name really doesn't mean anything. How about your name. I don't know if you are wondering this, but in case you are, I am a girl. I don't mean to be rude, but do you mind telling me about yourself? Thanks! N-E-Wayz, I think that Joey, drooling all over Kenny and Byron, is sickining. I mean, I know drooling is natural and everything, but the way the author wrote it down in the book, was disguisting. Those outhouses are really nasty, though! I can't imagine using a Sears Catolog, as tissue paper, can you? Byron, is a good storyteller. He always makes up stories. I guess he has a good imagination, do you think so too. Well, I have to go now! Bye! Thanks for responding! To:Keishia: Hey! O.K., I don't know what teacher you are talking about. What is her name? That might help me out. Also, 'N-E-Wayz" is just how I get back to another subject. You know how you say 'anyways', well I just changed that to N-E-Wayz. Back to the book, (see, I didn't say N-E-Wayz!) I think that being outdoors in pitch black looking at shapes that don't look normal to you, is kind of freaky! Don't you? Not that I am afraid of the dark, but still, it would be a little scary, don't you think so? I don't think that the Dad should have decided to not listen to Momma's plans, because being organized, I think is more accurate, than just going by what somebody said. Well, I have to go! Bye! Write back! |

I think that Byron is a good story teller and he really knows how to tell a scary story. I think that Byron is good at scaring little kids. I would like to be able to scare my brother. He never listens to anything that I say. I wish that I could tell stories that would make my brother wet his pants. Byron told the story about the froze up southern people, the hillbillies, and he really scared Joetta and Kenny. I wish he wouldn't be so mean to them though. I think that he would be the perfect big brother, but he would have to stop being mean to other people. |
