Dear Correy, I think that the book is getting really good. I've just finished chapter 5. The part I liked the best is when Byron almost got burnt. Could you believe that By was begining to cry? I wonderif he has learned his lesson yet. He was in the restroom with the door locked.He was playing with matches. I cannot believe that a mother would burn his own child.I liked the way Joetta was defending her brother, she didn't want to see her brother get burned.She was sobbing, begging her mother not to burn him.i started laughing when I heard that Byron starting to run and his mother started to run after him. Also I'm looking at this as child abuse. If it wasn't for Joey, Byron would have got his fingers burn.Tell me what you think about this. |

I think that Byron's punishment for the butter ( conk, do, mexican hair) was deffinatly fair. I mean his parents told him not to do anything with his HAIR, he messed up his HAIR, and his dad cut off all of his HAIR. I think it's good that the punishment was related to the crime. I think that Kenny is learning that Byron won't harm him. (except for a small punch) I think Kenny is also learning that Byron is unpredictable. He will do anything. I think he is gradualy getting less frightened of Byron. |

I think that when Byron colored his hair and shaved his head in a mohawk kind of way, his punisment was fair. I think that he deserved this because first of all, he didn't even ask his parents and second of all, I think that it looks relly bad. What do you think about Bryron doing that to his hair? Do you think it was right for Byron to do that? Some- times I think Joetta can get a little emotional when one of her family members get into trouble. |

Someone----- Isn't this book great!! It's even great for the Trouble Sisters. Kaitie's favorite part was when Byron got a conk and Mr. Watson shaved it off then slaped after shave on. Diane's favorite part is when Byron's lips got stuck to the mirror and Mr. Watson ask if his tongue was stuck too. We like how Christopher Paul Curtis made Byron think he has to do everything perfect. And Byron's nickname, Mr. Cool, what more of a perfect name could he have? We think Byron is sort-of like us. Does anyone have a connection to any character in the book? One more thing. Byron screamed after the after shave was put on because that stuff stings like heck. Actually this is the last thing. The teacher that wrote in this section about what a poindexer is, to put that in "kid" language poindexter is a nerd. |
