We just read chapter 1 today, and it's very funny! Byron is mean! He's a clown because he kissed the mirror! He doesn't respect others; when people try to help him he punches them! We think that we will enjoy this book. Some of us are mean to our brothers and sisters, too! One of the boys in our class had mean cousins that tied weights to his arms and legs and threw him into the pool when he was 5. Another kid tied her brother to a tree and threw water balloons at him! Our teacher has a picture of our principal and her meeting Christopher Paul Curtis last fall!

Hey! This is Angie again. I just read Ms. Samples' entry. That cousin must be really mean. What happened to the kid? Hope he didn't drown or anything!

So, what's it like living in Texas, Missouri, or anywhere else in the south? up here we have really bad weather, and it really bad bacause the roads are always slippery and we can never go outside bacause it's too cold! Everyone is sooo lucky to have better weather. Although I would hate to be in all of those hurricanes that happened last summer, there's one good thing about living up here with no great bodies of water around us!!!

I liked the book so far because it was funny. We at least have heating.

What do you think the mirror looked like after Byron's lips were pulled off from it?

Why were they called the wierd Watsons? Give three examples.

I think the book was good so far because it was very funny.I thought it was funny because Byron got his lips stuck to a mirror.

What would you do if your lips got stuck to a mirror?

What did you think of Byron? And how would you feel if you were Byron's brother?

The Relationship Between
Byron and Kenny

Byron and Kenny love to pick on each other!!
But sometimes they help each other out like when Kenny told momma and dad that Byron was frozen to the car. And when Byron told Kenny how to make his lazy eye straight. My brother and I act like Byron and Kenney all of the time!! We fight a lot but we occationally help each other like with homework and fun projects.

We just read chapter 1 and 2 of Watsons Go To Burmingham and I think it is very funny.

I predict that the new kid will "save" Kenny. I think the new kid will become friends with Kenny and help him fight against everybody that wants to make fun of him. Kenny and the new kid probably have the same thing in common, they both have Larry for an enemy.

I think that Byron really likes Kenny but has to act like he doesn't in front of every body or else his reputation will be ruined. I predict that the new kid in school will save Kenny because they will be friends and people will just kind of ignore them.

I predict the new kid in school will "save" Kenny. I think all Kenny needs is a friend. I predict that the new kid will get picked on and Kenny will stand up to him or talk to him and become friends. I think Kenny is lonely without any friends and the new kid will "save" him by making him happier.

I think that the new kid won't "save" Kenny but I think they will become friends and then Kenny won't feel so lonely. I think they will sort of protect each other.

The relationship between Byron and Kenneth isnot good because at school Byron acts like he is not even Kenneth's brother, he just acts like an older bully to him. Also, Byron has his friend bullying Kenneth also. They don't get along at all.

I think Byron and Kenny's relationship is very real. I have an older sister, an younger sister, and a younger brother and we behave like that. I feel like I can pick on my siblings but nobody else better try or I will be defending them. Also, if they do some- thing outstanding, I'll be proud of them and won't tease them.

I think that Kenny and Byron have a very good relationship. They get into fights but all brothers do that. Byron shows Kenny a thing call tough love. But Kenny doesn not fight back thinking that Byron doens not love him because he knows he does whenhis borher's lip got stuck to the mirror, he helped him.

I think that real brothers act that way and it is normal.

The book is funny so far. We're at chapter three and I've enjoyed all of them. It ties in minor drama with humor which is good. And it really had no plot ( I think )beacause there's no real problem, it's kinda just a life story but you never know what will happen to the wierd Watsons.

We think the book so far is hilarious. Byron is a little weird when he kisses the mirror. When the kids make fun of Kenny on the bus he is sad. Kenny liked playing dinosaurs with his old friend LJ,but LJ started stealing his dinosaurs so he stopped playing with LJ. The book gets really funny in the middle.

Our Class found the first chapter really funny. We discussed the temperature in Flint, Michigan because it never gets that cold here in Louisiana.

What are anyone's thoughts on the nickname Poindexter? We weren't sure. Waiting to hear from other students:)
