Book: The BFG

I read this really great book called the BFG, which stands for the big frendly giant. It is about a girl named Sophie and a giant she meets called the BFG. Sophie is a orphin girl who lives in an orphinedge in England. She gets up at witching hour when everybody was soppoesed to be in bed and when she looked out her window she saw the BFG coming toward her. He picked her up and carried her off to giant country. He showed her how he catches dreams in nets and saves them in jars. He also her to some of the other giants like the bonecruncher. But he couldn't interduse her to them or they would have eaten her alive. Sophie got lucky that all the BFG ate was snozzcumbers and he drank frobscottle that made him whizzpop. Then Sophie found out that the giants were going to eat some of the chiddlers. As the giants call the children. So Sophie decided to stop them and the BFG is going to help her.

When I first read Holes I thought that it would be very strange from what I had heard. To tell the truth it wasn't the most normal book that I had ever read. Holes is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats (Yelnats is Stanley spelled backwards) who comits a crime. His crime is that he supposedly stole a pair of shoes from a homeless shelter that belonged to Clide Livingston. Clide Livingston is a famous baseball player. He has a foot problem that makes his feet smell really bad. At Stanley's trial he is given the choice to go to jail or to go to Camp Green Lake. He had never been to a camp before so hes decided to go to Camp Green Lake. At camp Green Lake he has to dig one hole every day. They have to be 5 feet deep and 5 feet across. That is all that I can tell you, so you have to read the book.

Hi! I'm wrting a book review about "Holes". I recomened the book because there is some exciting parts of the book . The begining of the story is about two boys one named Hector Zeroni and one named Stanley Yelnats . Hector stole a famous persons shoe and his name was Clyde Livingston. Hector stole them from a shoe store and ran outside and put them on a car that was on a overpass. The shoe's fell off of the car and landed it in Stanley's hand. The cop's caught them , and they went to Court. They had a choice to go to Camp Green Lake or Jail. They picked the camp. They had to dig a hole every day 5 feet tall 5 feet wide until they got loose. They Got nicknames Stanley was Caveman and Hector was Zero. If you really look at Stanley's last name it is spelled the same backward.Stanley Yelnats. If you don't think the cover is nice you never judge a book by it's cover. If you read it you will know what the rest of the favorable book.....

"Holes" is two thumbs up. Stanley is a person in the book who was acused for something he didn't do. He was sent to Camp Green Lake, Camp Green Lake is not a lake. The book sounds like it's long but it isn't. It has 50 chapters but it is about 100 pages. Stanley has to dig one hole a day for 18 months. The holes have to be 5 feet wide all around the hole and it has to be 5 feet deep.

I think Holes was a great book. The charactors had interesting personalities. Stanley Yelnats is the main charactor and is just a normal kid. He gets sent to a harsh camp as punishment for a crime he didn't do. There he meets a boy named Zero%2C or should I say nicknamed Zero (everyone there has a nickname) and the adventures begin! Stanley has to dig a hole 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide every day. After he finds a weird gold tube and gives it to X-ray(a kid in his group) the warden starts acting really strange. Is she hiding somthing? After staying at the camp Camp Greenlake for months and a bad accident with the water truck, Stanley goes out to the desert looking for Zero, who ran away a few days before. This book is good because it goes back in time and to the present day. This helps to fill you in. Will Stanley and Zero survive%3F You have to read it!

Holes is an exciting and magnificent book. I recommend this book for kids who want an adventure with books. This book Holes is very educated. Our class made connections with social studies, like the Core Democratic Values. We found diversity, equality, and much more. I think this book is hard to pick your favorite part. This book is about a boy named Stanley who has to go to camp. This camp is not a happy place with a lake, green grass, and a pool. The camp is called Camp Green Lake. It is not green or has a lake. Well it has a lake but it is dirt, you see it used to be a lake and a happy place. Hi! I'm writing a book review about "Holes". I recomend this book because I think kids would be in suspense through the whole book . Their are two boys that both went to a camp called Camp Greenlake because they were bad . They stole Clide Livingstons shoes from a homeless shelter . They had to dig holes that where 5 ft wide & 5 ft deep for punishment . Then Stanley found a piece of gold & gave it to a boy named Ex-ray . Ex-ray gave the piece of gold tube to the warden & got the day off. Zero ran as far as he could to a place called big thumb then.

"Holes" is a great book. Don't judge this book by its cover. I did! I didn't think it would be a very good book. I was wrong! This book is about a boy who is accused of stealing a pair of shoes. He has a choice to go to jail or Camp Green Lake. The boy chooses Camp Green Lake because he comes from a poor family and has never been to a camp before. At camp he will have to dig one big hole each day. While you are reading this book you will find out that it's kind of like a puzzle. Try to put the pieces together and have fun doing it. Read this book to find out what happens!

Holes is a good book for kids. I like the book Holes. In the story, Stanley and Zero run away from Camp Green Lake. Then they try to go to Big Thumb. They are at the camp because they stole something. They hide out in a boat. Zero says, Do you want some juice? They are digging holes because they got in trouble and because they stole something. I like that the boys ran away because the people that worked at Camp Green Lake were always mean. I would want to run away if I were them, I would recommend this book to kids that are 10 and up. Sometimes it says some bad words that little kids may not understand. This would be a good book to read at home!

Book: Kane and Abel
Kane and Abel is a great and really fascinating story written by Lord Jeffrey Archer. It tells of two men, one a poor immigrant, Abel Rosnovski, and a rich Boston banker, William Lowell Kane. They both worked at building their empires. Abel becomes a hotel baron and know as the Chicago Baron, while William owns a huge banking company. Both paths crossed and they hated each other very much. They wanted to destroy each other because Abel thought that William indirectly added stress to his friend David who killed himself. Abel had always thought that William was the one who killed his best friend. So he wanted to seek revenge. Then, the story focuses on their children. Florentyna Rosnovski, Abel's daughter, met Richard Kane, the son of William and they fell in love. They were very much aware of their father's fierce rivalry and were afraid of telling them the news of their engagement. Of course, when William and Abel knew the news, they were ! more than furious. They forbid their children from their homes. Richard and Florentyna soon married and led their own lives. Meanwhile, the rivalry continus. It's somewhat funny the way Abel tries to run down William and vice versa. In the end, Abel could not stand not seeing his daughter and thus wanted to make up with William. When he attended Florentyna's opening of another of her boutique shop, he met a guy, who was actually William and William lifted his hat to Abel, not knowing it was Abel. Abel too did not know who was that guy. Sadly, in the end, William died without being able to see his son Richard with Florentyna. Abel recounted the story to Richard and Florentyna and told them how he had met William Kane and how he turned out to be a good man and also when he lifted his head to him. This is a heart-warming story. It is full of remarkable twists and turns and will leave you gripping the edges, wanting to know more. Highly recommended! You can read about the Florentyna more, being the American President in The Prodigal Daughter by Jeffrey Archer.
