Book: Tuck Ever Lasting

I belive that Ja'juante's oppion was just like my oppion in many ways. First I belive that this book is Heart-pounding.I think that it has a lot of mystery to it. I think that most intense part of the book is when the man in the yellow suit trys to take winnie away back to her family. And then when mae shoots him to try and defend Winnie. That part of the book had my mind racing!

The most sadess part of the story in my oppion was when the Tucks found the monument of winnie. I think that it was sad because Jesse wanted to have her drink the spring water when she was 17 so they can be soul-mates. I think if there is a sequal to this book Jesse will be
devastated. He will be devastated because she didn't drink the water and mostly that she was dead because he had strong feelings for her.

Out of a one to ten scale. Ten being the best I would rate this book a full ten! Again this book is tence, mind racing, excellent, and a very good family book. I would recommend book to anyone!!!

Book: Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH

I enjoyed this book whole heartedly. At the beginning,I will admit it was boring. But after Mrs. Frisby saw the Rats, and possibly more at the end, it was fun and very interesting. I loved how the author made a half sad, half happy ending. Something I didn't expect at all. One thing's for sure: it deserved it's award!!

If you haven't read it and you see it on the library's bookshelf, I suggest you borrow it.

In my reading group at school, we just finished the book "the BFG". Personally, I wouldn't want to reccommed the book to my worst enemy. The jokes weren't funny, it was just annoying the way the BFG spoke, the ending was unsatisfing, and most of the book was just a telling of how the gaints, or just the BFG lived. I personally would rather read one of Roald Dahl's other wonderful stories.

Book: Walk Two Moons

The book Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech opens with the quote, "Don't judge a man until you've walked two moons in his moccasins." It's about trying to understand people. The quote suggests that in order to truly understand a person, you must first think about what it is like to be that person. To put it simply, everyone has a story. What if I just want to be entertained?" Well, I didn't say Walk Two Moons wasn't entertaining as well as wise. It has suspense. Its characters are wonderful, interesting people. It also happens to be two great stories in one. Let me explain: Sal Tree Hiddle is a thirteen-year-old girl on a special road trip with her grandparents. While cramped in a car for six days, Sal passes the time by telling her grandparents what she calls "an extensively strange story"—the story of her friend Phoebe Winterbottom. You see, this trip follows a difficult year for Sal—one filled with painful life metamorphoses. Phoebe was a close, entertaining, but challenging friend who was an important part of her life during this difficult time. You might assume that the novel is mainly about Phoebe. However, through the story of Phoebe, readers gradually learn more and more about Sal's life. It turns out that Sal's story—a story about love, relationships, and learning to cope with life changes—is just as interesting and powerful as Phoebe's story. As you begin the book, think about the word journey. This novel is about the journeys we can take in a car or by train, and it is also about the more personal journeys we take in life. The journeys in this book will sometimes make you sad and sometimes make you laugh, and they will always encourage you to think.

Book: The Castawys of the Flying Dutchman

This bookis by Brain Jaques, the auther of the Redwall seris.
At first this book might imtimidate you; it's very thick and has a lot of words. That's how I felt at first. I made myself just "plow" right on and all of a sudden I REALLY REALLY liked it! There is a Part one and Part two (I'm pretty sure, anyways) and Part One is all about a mute boy named Neb who is running away from his cruel brothers and gets onto a ship. Soon he be-friends a dog named Den (Denmark). The ship they are on is called "the Flying Dutchman".
Anyhow basically, the captain thinks he can brave this terrible storm and then he curses God and a angel comes and destroys them all. But Neb and his dog are saved. The angel has blessed them with the abiloty to never die; to live forever. Also, Neb can understand what his dog, Den says to him. This is a very intersting book about a bond between a boy and his dog, friendship, and helping others.
In part two Neb has changed his name to Ben and the dogs name is Ned. Anyways I would really suggest you read this!!! There is also a sequel, "The Angles Command" (which has a lot about ships in it, ifr yoiu like ships)
This is a good book for both girls and boys probably from maybe ages 11 and up. Well, I hope you enjoy it!

Dear Dumb Diary is all about a pair of pants that are haunted. It all starts with the girlz dog. The girl thinks that her dog is bitting and chewing holes through her pants. It really isn't her dog her mom was looking through her daughters magazine's to see if there is any tips on how to bleach pants and other clothes. Her mom ends up spilling bleach on her daughters favorite pair of pants'. It ends up putting holes in her pants. So her mom goes with her to the mall and buys her a new pair of pants because she feels guilty. And then she feels like her pants are haunted so she invites her friend over so they can stop the evilness in the pants. They go outside and throw the pants on the ground and start doing karate moves. They feel really stupid so they put the pants in the washer. I forgot what happened but then her mom went out really quick and bought her a new pair of pants while her daughter and her friend walk to her friends' house. Before they came back her mom hung up her new pants. So they come back and look in the washer the pants aren't there so she looks in her closet there they are hung up. thats all i'm going to tell you you'll have to read the book your self. love ya,

Book: The Taggerung

This book is from the Redwall series. A series about an abbey made out of sandstone that is inhabited with talking woodland creatures (mice, squirrles, badgers...).
The Taggerung is the story of an otter who was raised by a tribe of "vermin" (the bad guys) and finds out that his home is really at Redwall. The whole story is mostly about the friends and enemies he makes during his journey home. If you like adventure or fantasy books, you'll love this book, it has a mix of humor, friendship, some exciting fight scenes, and loads of action.

Book: A Wrinkle in Time

I think this book is one of the best books ever written, and I do not understand how anyone could not like. When I read the reviews of Carmen and some of the guest reviewers, I was shocked at their critical viewpoint. I LOVED this book, and cannot comprehend how ANYONE can call it boring, flimsy, dull, etc. All you readers out there searching for adventure: THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU!!!!! When it comes to reading books, it is pretty hard to find one exciting enough to suit my tastes, and before I read this book I thought Sherlock Holmes was the best book ever, but no book I have read could ever beat A Wrinkle in Time. Madeleine L'Engle is the best! I can't wait to get my hands on the sequels. Please read A Wrinkle in Time. You won't regret it.

It is a great book and all,but the movie's name is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and the book was made first so it should both have the same name! My favorite part of the book is when Violet turned violet and the dad said "Violet your turning violet!" So if I had to make a rate for both the movie and the book if it could only go to 5.I would give them a 5! That's how much I like it!

Book: On My Honor by M. Bauer

I like the book On My Honor because the book teaches you a type of lesson about friendship and death.I personaly think my friends and other people should read it because it's a nice book and a boy named Joel has a best friend named Tony and they have fun and spend time together.Until one day Joel wanted to go swimming and Tony didnt really want to so he sugestied another place that was just like a pool but looked like a swamp.People heard and told lots of rumors about the place, they said it was a sewer and it had alligators in the water. When they finally got to where they could see the place they got off their bikes and raced down the hill through a pile of leaves that were probably poisin ivy right to the place. When they finally got there they started to swim.A few moments later they started aurguing about how eachother swam, until they started up a challenge of who could swim the best to certain places. They had to race to the sand bar, they started swimming and when they were half way their Tony was ahead by a little bit and they both started huffing and puffing until Joel was ahead and was almost to the sand bar. When Joel got to the sand bar he turned around and didn't see Tony, for a second he thought Tony was playing a trick on him until he saw Tony's clothes lying on the ground. I'll let you read the rest to find out what a great book it is!

The Lord of the Rings
J.R.R. Tolkien

The Lord of the Rings sparked my interest after I read The Hobbit in the third grade. While at a bookstore I purchased the books and began reading right away. I was sucked into the story and could not be parted from it for days. The story begins on Bilbo Baggins' 111th and birthday party where he mysteriously disappears. Gandalf, and old wizard follows Bilbo and convinces him to leave his magic ring behind. After finding out that Bilbo is gone, Frodo, his great-nephew, inherits the ring. Gandalf tells him to keep it hidden. Ninety years later he returns and tells Frodo of the ring's true identity, ans evil ring created by an evil lord, Sauron. He tells him that it must be destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom in Mordor and that he must d it. Discovering a figure in the bushes Gandalf pulls it out. It is Samwise Gamgee, a gerdener. The old wizard tells him to accompany Frodo on his journey. The two head out a few days later and run into Perigrin Took and Meridoc Brandybuck, a.k.a Merry and Pippin. They two troublesome hobbits join Frodo and Sam and they head off towards Bree. There they meet Strider a ranger from the north. He accompanies the hobbitts to Rivendell, they city of Elves. There the Fellowship of the Ring is fromed. It consists of Legolas, the elf, Gimli, a dwarf, Borimir, a man from the land of Gondor, Gandalf, Merry, Pippin, Frodo, and Sam. Together they head for Mordor.
Although theese books are extremly long and sometimes a little tiresome, they a excellent and I suggest them to everyone who loves fantasy andthose who don't, too.
The three books are The Fellowshop of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King.
If you liked the movies then you will love the books!

The Spellkey Series
Ann Downer

These three books are some of the best fantasy I've read yet. The author makes you feel like you are right there with the charecters. The main characters, Caitlan, and Bdger are so well developed and detailed. I love how Downer leads on the suspense.
Caitlan: Caitlan is a young girl who was raised by an old woman named Abagtha. She lives in a forest called Weirdwood. Caitlan is accused of being a witch and is sent to live with nuns.
Bdger: Badger was raised in a church to become a monk, although he had no desire to do so. As a last reort he is told he must escort a witch to a church.
Along the way the two become friends and find out that they are being followed by a murderer. Later, they end up on an Island called Chameol, but I won't tell you how!

The books are The Spellkey, The Glass Slamander, and The Book of the Keepers. There is a litle bit of romance in theese books but nothing inappropreate for young readers.

Jeremiah feels good inside his own skin. That is, when he's in his own Brooklyn neighborhood. But now he's going to be attending a fancy prep school in Manhattan, and black teenage boys don't exactly fit in there. So it's a surprise when he meets Ellie the first week of school. In one frozen moment their eyes lock and after that they know they fit together -- even though she's Jewish and he's black. Their worlds are so different, but to them that's not what matters. Too bad the rest of the world has to get in their way. I loved this book i recommende it to all that know how important love really is and how much it can affect your life when it leaves you.

I loved this book. I got it from our library. It's about a named Faith Long. She's a real good tennis player, but decides to stop playing the game that she is good at. No one knows why? She keeps her secret till she meets Arthur Ashe's ghost. That's when she starts explaining what happened to her, and how she hurt someone she loved by playing tennis. It's a good mystery and I really felt for Faith at the end of the story. I didn't know anything about tennis, but it didn't matter. This book was real good.

The main kid gets herself into trouble by sticking her nose where it doesn't belong, but everything always turns out okay. I just can't say enough good things about her books! Book: Island of Blue Dolphins

This book is excellent. Karana is a 12 year old girl. Her father dies when Aluet men come to hunt otter. After that, when the tribes sails away to a different island, Karana sees her 6 year old brother, Ramo, still on the island. Karana jumps off the ship and swims to the island.

Later in the book, Ramo is killed by the wild dogs. Karana befriends the leader and names him Rontu, which in her language means Fox Eyes.

She stays on the island alone for 18 or so years when her people come to rescue her.

This is a great book. It is written by Scott O'Dell. When he died, he asked to be cremated and wanted his ashes sprinkled in the sea. His family did this, and as they returned to shore, dolphins followed them the whole way. This is extremly ironic because in the book, when Karana attempts to leave the island, dolphins guide her home without the leak in the boat growing any larger. She also said, "It was the dolphins that showed me the way."

Also it hase a bunch ofvery unfourtunate events. Such as, a very wide window, a hurricane, a signaling device, hungry leeches, cold cucumber soup, and a triditanal horrible villain. This is a very good book if you like suspence and mostly if you like to read a good book. This is a good book for kids of the ages between the ages of 8-14 or 15. but if you are over that age you will probably like it too. This book is about three children that loose there parents in a mysterious fire. they have been to two homes already and have yet to have any luck. they are headed to there Aunnt josephine's house and... you will just have to read it for yourself to find out about this and many other intreging events in this book.
