All I can say is "wow". Your comments yesterday blew me away. They really demonstrated how much you learned from the book. I look forward to reading more of your comments today. Great discussion!

Did you guys like the book? I didn't really enjoy it and I have read better books!

I think that even though people have a different skin color people should not be so mean to them. Thats the same thing that was in the book!

I thought it was a good part when the people were at their house during the middle of the night. And then Cassie saw Mr. Morrison with the shotgun.

I think Melvin and R.W. wanted to get T.J. into trouble to make fun of African Americans, and to get him off their backs. I think this because they said he did it at the rally at the Avery's house and they lied that two other black kids helped him and knocked Mr. and Mrs. Barnett out. And plus, they had the idea, and they hurt T.J. when he said he would tell.

I think that was a sad end to a good book, but I still liked the rest of the book. I think if T.J. had not died then it would have been better. P.S., I think it was so freakish for Kaleb Wallace to kick T.J. in the gut that I feel Like kicking him in the gut myself!!

My favorite part in the book is when the kids get revenge on the bus driver with the giant puddle.

The book is very good but some parts I felt like taking the book and stomping it like Little Man did. But other than that it was good.

I also liked when Cassie's papa got home from the railroad job.

Overall the book was wonderful. It shows how the white people treated the black people in the 1920's and 1930's.

Great book choice even though the book had sad parts! Could we please read the sequel?
